Hi,
i just started my third character, mainly because i did not like the weapons i put my SP into. The one thing i noticed, is that during academy matches i actually had a much higher chance to get a satisfying match going on. Once i had those 4 options available, i did a lot worse and it starts to get frustrating at times, where i get stomped in quick succession.
Since i noticed that the ISK/SP payout was nearly identically, i wonder if there is a way to stay in academy matches, except from creating new chars?
Did CCP say if they will change the matchmaking really soon or im stuck with the old EvE "leave or adapt" mentality for a while? |

Join the "LFSquad" chat channel to find people who are also looking to squad up.
Hopefully CCP will improve matchmaking in the next couple of releases. It will vastly improve the enjoyability of the game IMO.
Yeah i team up in Squads all the time, but since there is no real MM i notice that a lot of players are simply better at this game, compared too my own skills atm. I don't even complain about being put against Proto guys, i will soon have advanced gear and hopefully have some SP left to finally skill TAR for a "decent" scope/ACOG. In other FPS i noticed my skill goes up if i switch from iron sight to some better aiming system.
Its simply not as much fun to play against vastly skill superior players, be it veterans in Dust or simply better FPS players in general. I don't mind dieing or loosing, but if u loose and die in a long streak, i feel like biting my PS3 controller, since i'm not this bad at FPS on the PC or MW2 on Xbox. |

I noticed that the better players seem to simply know the maps better and ofc know they have a advantage/even chance in a 1:1 situation. So they camp/farm some good spots and if they see a "milita" suite, they know they have the advantage in a 1:1 and push aggressively. Thats why i tend to play much more defensive in DUST atm, even if thats not my kind of playstyle.
On the other hand from my own tests using "weapon test" chars its actually correct what they moan about, going burst/break/tactical assault rifle atm has a edge over more complicated weapons. The handling and aiming, compared with the low spread, good range and good damage makes this weapon stand out and an excellent choice as beginner.
I simply cant get in my head, that while we can customize basically anything i cant pick & choose what aiming system i want on my weapon of choice. Seems kinda strange game design decision to me, since it forces me to abandon anything that has "bad" iron sight aiming, since i'm really bad at those. I also don't understand why there are so few weapons with ACOG and why they only have 1 variant "hard-mounted", i would really like to have multiple zoom, versions i can pick and choose and configure for the engagement at hand. I always liked those options in other games.
So DUST lets u vastly configure your tank and modules, but fails to-do so on your core game mechanic aka your weapon itself? Feels like a strange decision to me, given that the other parts are not this great either. |
